Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
My life has improved because I now own livestock ( goats and cows) which I am rearing for future purposes like paying schools fees for my children and milk consumption. Previously, I never owned any livestock because I could not afford. In addition, I bought solar energy for enough lightening in the house and charging my phone.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my money, I felt excited because I could not believe I was a among the lucky people to benefit from GiveDirectly.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer on purchasing 2 goats and 2 cows worth UGX 1,185,000, bought clothes/ household goods ( mattress, curtains, bed sheets) worth UGX 266,000 and bought solar energy worth UGX 82,000. The recipient spent his transfer on food but could not estimate the a mount.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means that my household desires will be met. These include a desire to buy oxen and an ox-plough for ploughing, desire to marry. Currently, we as a family are using hand goes for digging and we can't dig a bigger portion of the garden because we don't have oxen for ploughing.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My happiest part of the day is lunch time. This is time of the day when we have our meals and every one tends to be happy during this time of the day .
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I am currently facing is lack of oxen for ploughing. I am always forced to wait until the owners of the oxen finish to plough their gardens and that's when they will give me the oxen to plough my gardens. This kind of arrangement has affected my crop cultivation because the rains would have reduced by then hence making me have little harvest at the end of the year.
