I am a small scale farmer with no other job to rely on. I have developed passion for farming since it has supported my family more so my children education. I always work towards expanding and improving my farming to earn better. When I received my second transfer, I spent the entire part of it on poultry farming. I made this decision to help earn more through egg sales. Even though some of my birds died due to some diseases having started make it the biggest difference in my daily life. I am looking forward to improve it again for better returns

In own opinion GiveDirectly is an independent organization with firm and fair decisions. We well taught informed on how to go about everything and I joined when I was well informed. I thank them and urge them to continue with the same spirit.

My husband who is diabetic is now enjoying an ample time to make as many visits as they are required to the hospital and at the same time having enough time to think of other projects that will enable us to raise future school fees. We are also under a balanced diet in our household which is my joy since my children are feeding well. Apart from all these, the biggest difference is the fact that fetching water from the long distant rivers is now a story of the past in our household. This is due to the large water tank which we bought in our family. Rainy seasons to us are great blessings since we have made it our business to ensure that every drop of water from our roof goes to the large tank which we placed strategically below the gutters. Washing and taking care of our grandmother has been so easy for the last few months since we have plenty of water which save us enough time to wash her clothes and maintain other general cleanliness.

A message tone from the GiveDirectly issued phone was what awoken me from the early morning sleep after the previous tiresome day. I never hesitated to confirm and what met my eyes got me off the bed onto my knees. I had to really thank God for the fact that the promise we had been given by GiveDirectly was finally coming to pass. I had to wake my husband up to at least bear witness to the good news that had come to our home that morning. The message came to us with joy which filled every member of my family. At that moment I could hear similar celebratory voices emanating from my villager's homes, a signal that everyone was witnessing the shared blessings. I managed to visit some of the villages though it was still dark in the morning to sensitize them of the known risk of being conned. We encouraged ourselves to keep the information to ourselves so that we may not attract thieves who would render us bankrupts again. After all the celebrations and joyful moods that we were in, we had to settle with my husband and lay down plans on how to spend every coin of what we had received.

Paying school fees for my three children in secondary school and one in the University had never been easy until GiveDirectly came to our rescue. My husband who had been the backbone of all the projects in our household had been struggling a lot to make the ends meet. Although he is working in what the villagers called "a paying job", the medication he had been seeking due to his deteriorating health had been consuming a good portion of his salary. He visits the hospital every month for check-ups and collection of medication which have always needed a good sum of money. Receiving the transfer, therefore was a great relief since we had to spend 18000 KES out of the total in paying school fees. Considering the long distance which we have been walking to and from the river to collect water, we decided to spend another 33000 KES to purchase a large water tank holding 5000 liters. This idea was triggered by the fact that we have an old grandma in our household whose taking care of requires a lot of water due to the many laundries which are being done. We then decided to use the remaining amount in establishing a concrete foundation where we have placed the newly bought tank. We are grateful for the generous support accorded to us by GiveDirectly.
