How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different in that I was able to pay pride price to my in-laws. In addition, I feel uplifted when I see the cow and goats in my home since these give me money when sold. Before, my in-laws were too demanding. I always hid from them because I hadn't paid pride price. I had no asset to sell incase you needed money. This has changed, thanks to GiveDirectly transfers.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly has done well giving us money that has enabled people to acquire livestock, taxi motorcycles, build houses, land, to uplift their livelihood which was not there before. I don't see anything it hasn't done well.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
My second transfer was spent to buy a cow, two goats, four turkeys. I also bought household items like mattresses, then food.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
My daily life has changed because I have acquired enough utensils in my home. In the past, we used to have meals in shifts or at times ask for more plates from the neighbour depending on the situation at hand. Secondly, once I purchase my livestock (an ox ) it will enable me to plough my farm land in time. Before, I had to hire but late which affected my farm yields.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
Upon receiving my money, I felt very happy because I had never held such an amount of money in my life.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I have spent my first transfer on purchasing household goods(mattress, pair of bed sheets and utensils) worth UGX 193,000 and transport worth UGX 7000. The balance of the transfer I'm planning to spend on purchasing livestock for ploughing Agricultural land and milk production for home consumption.
