How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
If I had never received these transfers I would have been very sad because I would have been admiring those people that received. It is a good thing that I received these transfers and my life has been transformed.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has done a very good job in my village. We are all thankful because we were lacking a lot of things including good houses. Many people in my village now have built good houses.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used the second transfer funds to buy the materials that I needed to finiah building my house. I have bought iron sheets ans timber for the roof of the house that I have built.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
i was more then happy when i saw the transfer. i was very helpless with my children and i didn't know hoe to provide for them. THis made me happy

we can afford to eat descent meals in my family which we could have not afforded before the transfers

i want to build a house, therefore i have bought iron sheets. i was sleeping on the floor that is why i have bought a mattress and a duvet. I have bought an expand for storing my clothes and bags of maize to feed my family.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
This money means alot to me. I do not have a matress so I will buy a matress so I can sleep with comfortably. It is also hard for me to find food for my family even though I farm every day. This money will help me buy enough food for me and my family. matress, food
What is the happiest part of your day?
Am happiest whenever I have eaten enough food because most of the times I dont have food to eat. I am also happy when I have bathed and am just walking around.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I face is not having enough food for me and my family. I try to apply fertilizer to my crops but my harvest is always not enough to last us till the next harvesting season.
