What did you spend your second transfer on?
I have not spent my transfer yet but I'm planning to spend it on constructing a house.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has done wonders in my life because I was not able to clear my land debt I obtained to pay school fees. Secondly the house I'm planning to build I could not have managed on my own if it wasn't of GiveDirectly. I have not seen anything wrong done by GiveDirectly.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I'm planning to use my transfer on building a iron roofed house. The house I currently occupy is dilapidated and the roof is damaged by the lizards which have sought shelter in the thatch. I was able to secure my land back and have full control over it because I spent the transfer to pay off the debt I owed the money lender. Previously, I had a small portion of land to farm on and the crop production was very low resulting to continuous famine since the food produced couldn't sustain the wellbeing of my family.

What did you spend your first transfer on?
I paid back a loan of UGX 1,200,000 to community members and got back my agricultural land, bought clothing/household goods (curtains, mattress, 2 pairs of bed sheets) worth UGX 300,000 and food (maize) worth UGX 100,000.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my money, I felt happy. This is because I never had money to pay back the loan I had got for paying my daughter's school fees.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
My daily life is different in that, I have got back my agricultural land. I'm now sure of food security in the family when I farm my g-nuts, maize and cassava. Previously, I had a challenge of food short because I would farm on small piece of land I rented. In addition, I'm currently sleeping well on my mattress. In the past, I slept on a mat.
