Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I felt so relieved and happy the moment I received my first transfer. This is because at the time I was sick and needed to get treatment. Hence, it helped me.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
My life is now different because I was able to buy a bed, a mattress and bed sheets that I now sleep on comfortably as compared to before when I slept on a mat and some old clothes for a bed. In addition to the above, I am a happy person now since I was able to use part of my transfer to get proper treatment.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent part of my first transfer Ugx 1000000 to get back my two pieces of farm land that had been given out in exchange for money for my proper treatment at the time I was sick . I then paid up a debt of Ugx 200000 I also paid some money for building a grass thatched house at Ugx 250000 I used some miney for my treatment. Lastly, I bought some household items such as bed sheets, a bed, mattress, curtains, food and other miscellaneous items.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Recieving this money means I will be able to build a better house that I can comfortably sleep in. The one that I currently sleep in is not safe at all.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am happiest in the evening when my grand child is feeling a little better in her health. It is a sign of relief in her.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I am faced with is lack of money to do the things I would like to do. I have always wanted to build a better house for myself but I have never had the opportunity to do so.
