How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Were it not for the organization, I do not think that I would have managed to pay school fees for my kids who had a very huge amount of school fees arrears yet I had no money that I could use to bail them out. I am happy that I managed to pay school fees for the kids and made them concentrate on their studies without missing out on the lessons.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
I believe that the organization had done a good job in trying to change people's lives especially the poorest in the society. The lives of my village members have changed tremendously as a result of the cash that they sent to the members of this society.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent the cash on buying new iron sheets that I had planned to use to build a new house reason being that I currently live in a structure that is so old and it is in such a dilapidated state. I want to get a new house because I want to leave this current structure to my kids who have to go and spend their nights away in their relatives' places.

The biggest difference in my daily life is having a stress free life because I managed to reduce the fee balance I owed the school. I now feel free and not worried anymore on how to raise the huge amount I owed the school.

The moment when I received my money, I felt so happy and thanked God for the blessings because to me that was a sign of improvememnt in my living standards.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer on my children's school fee in order to clear the fee balance they owed the school, so they could get enough time for their studies.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
"The biggest hardship i have faced is lack of adequate resources that has hindered my children's education. I have children in secondary school, and getting fees is a great problem, because i have no stable source of income."
What is the happiest part of your day?
"The part of the day is night. This is the time i join my family at the table taking dinner after a long day commitment. To me it is the greatest pleasure ever, to have my family around me."
What does receiving this money mean to you?
"Receiving this money is a great blessing to me. Before that, i used to sleep on an animal skin because i did not have a bed and a mattress to sleep on, but now i am certain that i will solve that problem."
