What did you spend your second transfer on?
When I received this transfer, I bought livestock because previously I used to suffer when it came to plowing season. I took some money to the church as a thanksgiving for the construction of our church. The remaining money I used it for feeding my family and purchase household items like clothes.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GD's transfers helped me pay off land mortgage which my dad acquired earlier and when we divided the land I mistakenly landed on the mortgaged land. GD's transfers have also helped me acquire livestock that I did not have prior to getting these transfers. I also managed to buy seeds that I did not have before receiving transfers therefore this planting season I will not be stressed for money to buy seeds. GD's transfers have also enabled me promote God's work here on earth because I contributed for church construction from both my transfers. In my view, GD did everything very well and nothing wrong.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different now in that, I have a lot of happiness because I was able to get back my land. I did not have where to farm but through these transfers I have vast land to farm on. I managed to acquire a bicycle that has eased my movement because previously I used to borrow a bike and when I'm denied one, I walked on foot to wherever I was going. These transfers have also enabled me buy a bed because prior to getting these transfers I used to sleep down on the floor. I also managed to acquire a solar system that has brought brightness to my household compared to previous days that I lived in darkness.
