How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I think that without the cash transfers from GD, I would have never been able to buy the cow which I bought because I do not have the financial capacity to purchase such a cow given that its price was extremely high. Now I will be able to get milk from the cow every single day, which means that I will not have to buy milk from the local vendors.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
I think that GD excels when it comes to giving its recipients like me unconditional transfers which we then use to bring small changes in our lives.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I used the money to buy a cow that was worth 38000 KES, reasoning being to get a good supply of milk from the cow and stop buying milk from the local vendors. Apart from that, the cow will most definitely give birth to its offsprings in the near future, which basically means that their population will be slowly be increasing overtime which to me is such a great thing to be happy about.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I no longer use KES 25 to buy milk every day and my children are healthy because of drinking enough of it.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my transfer I feel very happy and jumped for joy because I knew that my children would eat well and accomplish my other plans too.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer on purchasing a dairy cow for milk production since I used to spend KES 25 everyday to buy milk. I am now happy that I no longer buy it anymore. Part of the money went on a calf and clothes for the family members who had old ones . I finally bought food that we ate as a family.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money brings happiness to my family. I would like to spend the transfer on buying a cow that will eventually provide me with milk hence improved nutrition.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the afternoon when I get paid for the casual labor that I offer and buy food for my family.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I am facing in life is lack of reliable source of income. I depend on casual labor that is seasonal and tedious. Most of the time it is difficult to provide for my family's basic needs like food and clothes.
