How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Growing up my dream was to build a spacious house before having kids but due to lack of financial limitations, my kids and I sleep in the same room. Moreover, seeing my children and me sharing a room is embarrassing as a woman. In the coming year, I hope to have a spacious and concrete house that is long-lasting.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
I have dreamt of having a concrete spacious house that is long-lasting and will last for many years after I'm gone. Besides, my kids with have somewhere comfortable to sleep. Give Directly did extremely well, with the help of Give Directly money I was able to start the process of building my house. Right now, I have started producing my planks to be able to have a durable house.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
Throughout my entire life, I have been living in one bedroom mud-and-stick house with a thatch roof. I always dream of having a spacious concrete house that will last for many years, even after I'm gone. Living in a mud and sticks house is embarrassing for my family and me. During the rainy season, we feel very uncomfortable at night to sleep, because when the thatch roof gets old water starts to trickle down and it makes our mattress wet, Sometimes my family and I developed cool. I intend to use the money to build a concrete and spacious house that is long-lasting. I will also use some of the money to start a business to support my family.
