We check in with people at each stage of the cash transfer process to see how things are going. Take a look at some of their stories as they appear here in real-time.

Receiving this money means that we'd be able to complete our house project, thus, cement the floor and plaster it outside. I have always wanted to finish up this project and have a nice house structure for myself and my family but due to lack of funds I have been unable to do this. This would require 10 bags of cement that would cost about 120$, with respect to the current inflations.
As a HH we'd thereafter go and buy 10 bags of maize for food. This would be sufficient to sustain us until next harvesting season. Having done that we would go on and buy a cow for meat and milk production. We'd be selling these right here in our village for as it is there's nobody doing it so we feel we'd make money from this and help improve our lives beyond the cash transfers from GD.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I was down with an unknown illness for 2 months but thank heavens I got healed last month, September 2022 when some people came and prayed for me right here in my house. This brought me and my HH extreme joy.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Currently we see a decline in profits from our small businesses. I deal in repairing things like sewing machines and gensets while my wife sells fresh maize. This is how we mainly get our daily bread and lately this hasn't been the case and we are facing hunger in our house. Our customers don't seem to have money these days and this inturn affects our respective businesses. As a result, somedays we only get to eat 2 meals a day, thus, lunch and supper since we don't have money to afford 3 meals. At present, 5 kilograms of maize is selling at 2.4$ and we struggle to attain that.
