How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I have been living in one of the rooms in my bigger brother's house. Besides I have not been able to buy a mattress to sleep on except the palm thatches I cut and spread on my bamboo bed. Now that I have been opportune to receive this amount of money I have never seen before, I have therefore decided to build my own house.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
The Chanel through which the cash is being transferred to me in my opinion is the best thing the organization is doing. I think this way, I am able to decide without pressure what to do with my money. As for what GiveDirectly is not doing well, nothing absolutely have I seen wrong that the organization is doing.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
Through the transfer I was able to buy cement and additional bundles of zinc. I was also able to buy a mattress and a floor mat. Furthermore, I paid a sawyer to planks for the roofing and furniture works on my house. I am so grateful to GiveDirectly for this wonderful opportunity given me and I am going to make a maximum use of it.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I came from the goal creek to do a daily hire work when I received a message from my wife to immediately check my account. I went to the network point and I received my mobile money alert. I was very excited. This is a complete change in my family life. Thanks for the grant.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference now, my waking up hours have changed. The worry of sustaining my family daily support have reduced. I am so much grateful for the transfer from GiveDirectly.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I was able to buy cement bags and sand with my recent transfer to improved my house. I had been living with my family in a very bad condition. But with the transfer now, my life is getting better.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
"For over five years I have lived in my grandmother house and that means not having total freedom even though I have my own family. When I received this money from GiveDirectly, I will used it to complete my house project that I'm already caring on so I can have a place of my own. I will then invest the rest of the money into business. Completing my house project and starting business will help me to live a happy and stable life."
What is the happiest part of your day?
"My parents got divorced in 2010 at then I was still young. Since then life has been really difficult! Through all of my hardships, I was able to start building my own place and this have brought me real happiness. In addition, the present of GiveDirectly in our village today has also increased my happiness. "
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Living in my grandmother house with my family is really difficult, at times we have so many disagreements on various matters. As a young man and a head of a family, some of the major challenges I'm faced with are; completing my house project so I can have a place of my own, starting a business for my wife that will enable us to always have cash in our hands and sending my child back to school."
