What does receiving this money mean to you?
When I receive the cash transfer from Givedirectly, I will use some to start a business and use the profit on my children education and use the balance to building a house for my family which will bring happiness in my family. The house I live in is a structure with a thatch roof and currently, my husband do not have a reliable source of income to sustain us. He have to burnt charcoal inorder to generate money to meet some of our basic needs. Receiving cash transfer from Givedirectly will mean a lot to me and my family because it will change our situation.
What is the happiest part of your day?
What has brought me happiness is when the representative of our district to asked me to send my children to the school she build without paying fees. That has brought me happiness because I have been wondering on how to get my children in school holding to the fact that my spouse is without a reliable source of income. I see how struggled to take care of our basic necessities. Just by the representative doing that for my children, I now have some relief.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest challenge I'm currently face with is to see my spouse without a reliable source of income. He have to burn charcoal inorder to put bread on the table and meet some of our basic needs such as clothes medication, soap, and toothpaste, just to name a few. Burning charcoal is so hard and not health friendly at all because I sometimes help in the process of production. So I know what my spouse goes through just to Cater for our basic necessities. I will really appreciate any help I can receive to improve our livelihood.
