What does receiving this money mean to you?
The house we are staying in right now is not ours as the one we had burnt down after accidentally catching fire in 2018. We have always wanted to have a good house since we already have land but we lack the money to build one. Hence this money will go towards building a comfortable house for me and my family. Another part of the money will help us afford some fertilizer as the land produces more with fertilizer on it. In addition, the children too lack other needs such as school fees and other necessities for better education even in a village setting so I shall make sure they are also taken care of next term.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Village life is hard most of the times. We rarely have happy days so the only time we are joyful is when we have enough food for that day. Since we are harvesting, my hapoiest part of the day is chatting with my family while we are shelling maize after a long day at the farm.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Every farming season we try our best to plant more and take care of the crops as good as we can without fertilizer but we always end up harvesting little. This always lead to hunger within my household and in the end we lack money too to buy extra food.
