Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
Lack of green grass for grazing my live stock the sunny climate has made me to come up with other measures of taking care of my goats. I usually take them to the field at dawn so that they get the wet grass to feed on before the grass dries up. While at the field at around 6am is when I received the transfer message from GiveDirectly. I felt so happy knowing that my falling house which was stressing me up had got a solution.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
I am now happy; GiveDirectly enabled me to have a stable house and also an alternative piece of land for farming. The two things that I can confidently and proudly say about GiveDirectly changing my life is the acquiring of land and the house which I was not sure how life was going to be during the rainy season if it were not for GiveDirectly.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
Upon withdrawing the money, I bought hard corals and some cement for KES 16000.00. I constructed some pillars for my house and as at now it is very firm. I did this fearing that during rainy season the house may fall off because the poles that were used in construction had been damaged by termites. I also bought a plot so that to have an alternative area for farming since the piece of land I have is over used and no longer productive. Thereafter I bought a cow with the remaining amount so that I tart raring too hopping that as time goes by the cow will multiply.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means I will buy two oxen and a plough for ploughing my land which will cost me 30,000 shillings - I have been facing famine and luck of food in my house because I do not have oxen to early plough my one acre piece of land .I usually depend on other neighbors oxen which makes me ploughing late making me loosing harvests every season. I will cement my house which will cost me 20,000 shillings - I see it inconvenient and embarrassing that after taking my shower in the evening , I later step on an earthed floor ! I will also pay for my son's education which will cost me 23,000, My son is frequently being sent home from school because of luck of school fees. The rest of the money will use to buy food for the family and any emergency case.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My happiest part of the day is in the morning when I wake up , feel am ok , my family is also are well and with food to cook in my house.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My biggest hardship is when my first born died. My first born died in 2005 through a car accident and this affected me very much.
