Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
After GiveDirectly came for enrollment in our village, I started planning and wrote down on a book on how I would spend my money. On my list, buying a dairy cow was my priority since it is what I had desired to have for so long. Being able to achieve this makes my daily life different from how it was before. When it starts reproducing, I will be able to get milk for our consumption and sell some so that I can get money to use in paying school fees for my children.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
It was around 4 am when I received a message alert indicating that I had received money from GiveDirectly. I was able to read the message at that time since I was awake. I became so happy when I realized that GiveDirectly had sent me the money I had been waiting for. I knew that that was the end of troubles as I would be able to use the money to achieve so many things.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
When I received my first transfer, I used some amount to buy a dairy cow. Buying milk has been my routine and it is costly and sometimes I do not have money to use in buying them. I am optimistic that it is be calving soon and I will be able to also sell milk to my neighbors like other people. Also, I bought 10 pieces of iron sheets and nails to use in building a house for my son. This is because he is aways forced to seek shelter at our neighbor's house and it is always unsafe for him walking at night. I used the remaining amount to buy three sacks of maize flour, some utensils, foodstuffs, and clothes for my family.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means that i will be able to initiate poultry farming, a project that i have always had on mind but haven't been able to achieve due to lack of resources. I will use my second transfer to buy one dairy cow whose income from selling milk will supplement income from selling poultry products
What is the happiest part of your day?
Having spent my day doing casual jobs in people's farms, returning home in the evening is the happiest part of my day since its a fulfillment that i was able to secure a job to engage in meaning i will be able to buy some food for my family
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship i have faced in my life is unreliable source of income. I do casual jobs such as weeding and planting other people's farms in order to earn some money to sustain my family. However, it is never predictable daily whether i will be able to get some work to do thus this is the biggest challenge i face
