How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
One thing that I attribute as being out of the transfers is that the quarry business which required huge capital to kick start was well sorted. I had to buy more equipment as it was needed in the job, and also gave me money to help me maintain the labour that I had hired. If the money was not there, I wouldn't have done all this.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GD did good by offering us financial support which has helped us in putting our lives in a higher level. The poverty level was atleast sorted and we are happy at that. There is nothing that it the organization has really done wrong.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent the transfer in hiring labour which was used in quarrying business which is currently in progress. This is because I recently begun working in a quarry site which is my source of income. The need to add extra labour necessitated me hiring more people. I also spent some other amount in building my house which was now in a very bad condition. My brother was seeking to move to a different location, thereby I felt it prudent for me to buy the house which he was living in since it was bordering my area of work- quarry. And the rest of the amount was spent on procurement of household expenses.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my life is that now I have chicken which has greatly help me purchase food staff for my family. Before, I use to depend on my casual jobs and now am happy working in my farm.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I got the money from GD, that day my night seemed long as I was so anxious after receiving such amount.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
My first transfer which I got from Give directly I spent to buy a cow and some to renovate my house. I spent some part to buy some chicken. I chose to start poultry farming as it is a reliable source of income mostly in the village through the sale of eggs.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship we are facing is inadequacy of farmland. Most of our 1acre of land is covered by rocks. Besides, we lack finance for purchasing more and better land. Hence, we live below our initial expectations and desires.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is at the evening when returning home with some money from our small business (we crush and sell rocks as ballast). This means that we shall have funds for the various household uses - including purchase of food, clothing and paying school fees for our kids.
What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means that we shall start enjoying a higher standard of living. We will do agribusiness (rearing poultry and cattle). We will also build our own house and enjoy subsequent freedom as opposed to the one we are currently living in.
