How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is different from how it would have been four months ago in that I have sand in my compound. I had desired to plaster my house so that I can have a presentable and durable house but due to low income, I have never managed to achieve this goal. In the last three months, I was able to save part of my monthly transfers to buy sand. Right now, I am sure I will plaster my house finally. I know through the next transfers, I will be able to have cement which I will use in plastering my house.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My additional goal in the next four months is to buy cement which I will use in plastering my house. I used my last three transfers to buy sand which I have already in my compound. I am hoping with the next transfers, I will be able to buy cement to finish plastering my house.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life since I started receiving these transfers is that I have always had money to pay school fees arrears and school requirements for my children in school. I have always struggled to pay their fees since I only depend on income from house construction which has not been very consistent. The needs of the family have always overwhelmed me because of my low income. I was not able to meet their school needs in time because of other family needs. With GD transfers, I have been paying their school needs bit by bit and as at now, I have managed to clear their balances. They have never been sent home again this year for fees arrears.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect my life to change in the next six months in that I will have new household items such as seats and utensils. I do not have good seats and in most cases, I have always begged for seats from my neighbors when I have visitors. This has been very shameful tossing seats around because I show the whole village my needs. I would want to stop this once and for all.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
I think that without the transfers from GD I would have been unable to buy the building materials which I am now planning to use to make major changes in the state of my house. Apart from that, I have been making some savings each and every month and without the cash transfers, I think making the monthly savings would have been quite impossible.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My goal right now includes making repairs on my house since some sections of the house which are in a dilapidated state. The plan has been to buy a few bags of cement every month to make the dream come true.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
I have been using the transfers to accomplish do many projects which includes using the money to cultivate the farm by hiring a few individuals who helped me in cultivating the huge piece of land which I could not work on alone.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect that my life in the near future because I will have transformed my house I to a semi-permanent structure so that it can last for so long into the future. When the building is in its current state it becomes easy for it to be washed away by heavy rains which may eventually lead to the collapsing of the house.

The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months is that I was able to take care of my needs easily. In the past, I could depend on doing construction work and a voluntary job as a preacher. This was not enough to cater for most of my needs because even getting the odd job was seasonal. I had to squeeze my budget not taking into consideration a well-balanced diet. We just had to deal with the money that we had. Right now, life has changed, I no longer worry about the next meal because I I get the monthly payment which I budget well throughout the month.
