How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different in that my family now has good shelter and I can afford food for my family unlike before my family used to sleep in licking house and I could hardly afford a meal for my family.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion GD cash transfers have empowered us financially in that we have built good houses, small businesses have been set up hence our lives have greatly improved, and GD did not do well by leaving out some households.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer to buy construction materials(nail,binding wires,iron sheets, making bricks) at UGX 577,000, paid transport at UGX 15,000, rented agricultural land at UGX 200,000, Food at UGX 150,000, Savings worth UGX 500,000 and school fees at UGX 90,000.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I have been enabled to build an Iron roofed house. It has also been exciting to hold a million plus for the first time in life.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received the transfer I felt happy , I called my wife to draw the plan with me.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer for buying building materials(10 iron sheets, 10 cement, 2 trips of bricks). I have kept 500,000ugx for actual construction work and buying other materials.

When i receive this money, i will build an iron sheets house.

The happiest part of my day is when isee my children healthy and happy.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship i have faced is lack of money to facilitate medical treatment for our children.
