How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
The most evident change is that I am now debt free because I was able to service an outstanding loan that had spent over two years. I also bought a bicycle that has made my transport means very easy and it is also used for fetching water from the borehole. However, in the past I was sad because I could not service that loan. I was living in shame though I could not admit it. More so I used to carry one jerrycan to fetch water which was cumbersome. With the bicycle now, I can carry four jerrycans of water at once.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly does well to send the poor cash transfers that have uplifted their social status. Many people have constructed houses and improved on their living standards. All the same, there is nothing that GiveDirectly has not done well.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second cash transfer to purchase two cows.
