How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I bought enough sticks to build kitchen for cooking space with part of my first transfer and started a new business with the balance money to sustain the family when GiveDirectly shall have left. I have developed a new goal. I bought ten bags of cement to plastic my old house with part of the money and added the balance money to my buiness.I used to sell a petty business which could not complete any development in my community until GiveDirectly came into my life and my life is getting better than before.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
I am grateful because GiveDirectly make me very happy and proud in my community. I never use to afford for my family easily but now, I can afford my family support especially regular meal. Every process went well.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
Through the transfer from GiveDirectly, i was able to buy ten bags of cement with part of the money and added the balance money to the business. My life is now getting better than before because, I can now handle my own money to help myself and my family. Since I received the money, i am always happy. Thanks to GiveDirectly for giving me money to help my family.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
While I was still at home early that faithful morning, I heard some of the town people rejoicing and shouting that they have received transfer from GiveDirectly. I immediately ran in search of network to check my phone. Suddenly, I saw a text from GD stating that I had received transfer as well. Hence, I decided to set up my frozen food (chicken, pig foot, pig tail etc..)business and also rebuild my kitchen that was destroyed by storm few days ago.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life since I started receiving transfer from GiveDirectly was being able to set up a new business that would create an additional source of income for me to cater to my family basic needs. Furthermore, I was also able to pay contractors rebuild my kitchen within the shortest possible time. This wouldn't have happened without GiveDirectly's financial support. I am so delighted to be part of this project.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I have always wanted to start a frozen food (chicken, pig foot, pig tail etc...) business. Furthermore, I needed money to rebuild my kitchen that was broken down by a powerful storm few days ago. Thus, when I received my transfer, I used a huge portion to purchase 1 cartons of fish. Likewise, I bought pig foot ($3,800), pig tail ($3,500LD), chicken feet ($3,800LD) to set up my business. The remaining portion of my transfer was used as transportation and compensation for contractors who were building my kitchen.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
"We did not make farm last year because my husband never had money to pay workers to work on our farm, my uncle usually help us with food. When I receive the money form GiveDirectly, I will use portion of it to pay workers to work on my farm and the remaining will be use to establish a business. "
What is the happiest part of your day?
"I have not had any happy moment, because I lost one of my children at the end of last year. Right now I am happy because GiveDirectly is working in my town today".
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
"My biggest hardship is lack of finance. My husband is a causal labourer and the little money her get is not sufficient to cater to my household need. Due to lack of money I am unable to provide food for my family and also meet my family needs".
