How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different than it would have been if I never received the transfer since I am currently enjoying more income and profits from my shop. I used the second transfers on acquiring more diversified stock for my shop. Accordingly, my shop has attracted more customers, which in turn draws more income. As a result, I have a reliable source of substantial income that I use to acquire food, clothing, school fees, and other items for my family. Thanks a lot to GiveDirectly for the financial boost. Earlier on, I had secured a relatively small loan from a friend to finance my shopping business. However, the loan could attract huge interests yet it was inadequate to finance all the items that I intended to buy. So, without GiveDirectly, I think I could still be struggling to repay the loan while spending most of my time attending to the relatively few clients who could visit my small shop.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In your opinion, GiveDirectly does well in the approach it employs. That is, it offers freedom for the beneficiaries to choose whatever they want to do with the transfers. Moreover, I like the way it endeavors to ensure direct transfer of money through mobile money.
, and what does it not do well

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means so much to me. It is going to transform my life for the better. First, I want to invest a part of the first transfer in a dairy cow. I currently have one and I want to own two. These cows will sustain my family financially and provide milk for consumption. Secondly, I want to upgrade from a mud walled to a timber walled house before the end of this year.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am a shopkeeper, and coming home to my family every evening is the hippiest part of my day. Reuniting with them after a busy day relaxes my mind.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced in my life is having dropped out of school in the year 2006, due to our poor background. My father could not afford to finance my transition to secondary school. I knew from that moment that I was dependent on myself so as to fend for my needs. The life I wished for has only become a dream and things would have been different had I acquired secondary and university education.
