What is the achievement you are proudest of?
I am currently a form two student at Balek Secondary school. The achievement I am proudest of is having acquired secondary education. Though I am not through yet, my plan is to work hard and acquire a certificate to take me to college where I intend to pursue a course in nursing. I am proud of going to secondary school because it has opened my mind to realize the career I want to pursue.
What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I am planning to spend my first four months transfer on rearing poultry. In the first and second months, I plan to use the transfer on building the poultry house and related costs like paying for construction labour and materials. Using the third month transfer I will buy chicken mash after which I purchase ten chicks costing about ksh 200 each using transfer from my fourth month. I intend to use subsequent transfers to cater for their feeds until they lay eggs and become self sustainable.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening when coming home from school having completed the given assignments. This means I am coming home at ease and with less burden in my mind.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My mother was diagnosed with lung cancer and was admitted to Tenwek hospital for about 5 months in 2016. She fought hard for her life. We did all we could but she passed on in July the same year. Before her demise she operated a clothes business that sustained our family including my school fees and other basic needs. Besides, she played a big role in my life including moral and emotional support. Losing her is the biggest hardship I have faced in my life.
