What do you plan to do with the cash transfer?
When i receive the unconditional cash transfers from givedirectly, i will buy land and build a house for my family in a safe place, which i have not yet identified. The land will cost £1081 which is equivalent to 4 million hillings only, this will help me to have my own house were my children will call home. I will also use £540.5 for the construction of the small shelter and the balance of £251.6 will go for buying assorted food stuff for the family, and this will really improve on the living conditions of my family and this will bring alot of happiness to me and my children.
What is the happiest part of your day?
In the last 6 months, what brought me joy was when the cow I was given look after gave birth, and I began to milk was a joy for me because I sell some of the milk though little to earn some money to support my family. The money I earn from milk per day though not every day is UGX 2000 which is equivalent to USD 0.6, which is a boost to my income and the balance of the milk is for family consumption.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The current challenges I am facing are that since my hunsband passed on in mach this year 2023, most times i have failed to pay school fees for my school going children due to lack of stable source of income and also feeding is a big challange because the faming i do on small scale is not sufficient to get enough food for my family. I do smale scale farming and at times, i also do casual labour to earn income to support my family. I also have a challange of shelter where by right now iam staying at my brother in law's house with my 7 children and 3 grand children because mine was swept by landslide and that is when he was in Kenya but now that he has come back and we are still staying in the same house with him, it is a very big challenge to me a mother. I desire to be in my own house.
