How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
For the last four months, I have been using half of my transfers to pay school fees for my son who is in college. I am happy and glad that soo far he has been in school studying peacefully despite the little deficit of arrears that he has. When he shall perform excellently after completing his studying it will be the beginning of a greater career for him. This honor shall be because of GiveDirectly's financial support.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goal in the next four months is to save as much for my son's education with GiveDirectly's transfers. In my village, no one knew that I would take my son to college because for him to complete his secondary education it came with a lot of challenges mostly in keeping him in school without arrears was difficult. I intend to give him a quality education when I have the opportunity and better his future life.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life for the last four months is that I bought a mattress and a second-hand bed where my children can sleep in. Previously, they don't have a good place to sleep and they had to use old mats. Today, they are happy since they do have enough rest and also enjoy the luxury that other children have sleeping in comfortable bedding.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect in the next six months to purchase another goat and add to the one I recently bought with GiveDirectly's transfers since they have the capability to reproduce within a short period of time. I will be able to sell some when they are of large numbers and replace the income I make from the sale to an ox in the future. With the ox, I would be assured of consuming less time in plowing my farms and also get good harvests.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
The last four months have been a blessing to me because I was able to buy a goat which I felt I really needed because it will act as a source of financial security in the future whenever I run out of cash.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I have a dream of making some major repairs on my house especially the walls that are currently in such a dilapidated state. I actually need to bring down some section of the wall and then rebuild it afresh and maybe do some bit of cementing so that the walls can last for a longer time.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference for me I would say is that the cash transfers have enabled me to educate my child who successfully completed his high school studies last year without facing any major interruptions in the course of his final year of study. Before the transfers, I used to strain a lot because I would entirely depend on my husband who does casual jobs for a living, which in most cases left us in sixes and sevens in situations where jobs were on the low. At times I was forced to sell out some of my cows and goats so as to be able to raise the amount required to pay the school fees for my child.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I have a long term goal which entails buying more goats so that when we get to such a time when the transfers will be stopped, I will have a large flock which I am sure will keep multiplying after every short period. In the event that I run into a financial crisis, I will be in a position to sell out the goats and earn some money in return, which will then make it easy for me to raise the amount required to keep the kids in school.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different from how it was four months ago because I am always able to acquire more foodstuffs for my household. I have been spending part of the transfers from GiveDirectly on food hence we have not gone to bed hungry in the recent past as we could do sometime back. In addition, I have been able to buy my children new clothes. They are nowadays smarter and more presentable as compared to the past months.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My additional goal in the next four months is to buy two more goats. I have been longing to raise a trip of goats and I believe that these ones will reproduce and increase in number. Moreover, having more goats to me is a form of investment because, in case of an emergency, I will be able to sell them and get money to solve that problem I may have.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
In the last four months preceding the current transfer, the biggest difference in my life is owning a goat. I had never owned any goat all through my life and having one at the moment is an achievement in life. I thank God for the transfers from GiveDirectly.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect my life to change positively in the next six months since I will be owning at least three goats bought with GiveDirectly's transfers. I strongly believe that in a span of one year, they will give birth to kids. Owning three goats in my village will be the biggest achievement in my life since I had never owned even a single goat since I was born.
