How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life has changed because soon i am going to build a new house with iron sheets roof and i have also bought enough food that will cover me for a longer period o
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
I was poor and had no hope that life would change for me as you can see my house is very old and in bad condition and i did not know how i would build a new one, the coming of Givedirectly has also brought positive change in my status because i will be able to build a new house. Therefore Givedirectly did well on inclusiveness where every ellegible household was registered regardless of how one looks or his/her position in this village. Had the exercise been entrusted to our leaders here some of us would not be registered and there would have been too much corruption. Thanks to Givedirectly for being systematic and proffesional that has helped to prevent any malpractice. There was nothing done wrongly
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent my transfer on 24 iron sheets at MK5500, 6 bags of maize at MK8500 each and saved part of it to be used on building a new house in the near future

What does receiving this money mean to you?
The money means a lot to me. As a family, we are really grateful for being considered. The house we are living is very small. I am planning to build a bigger house. I will also buy beddings. This year, my harvest is not enough. I am planning to buy some bags of fertilizer in readiness of the next growing season. I will also buy more bags of maize to sustain us.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am happy during evening hours. It's the time we have supper together as a family.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The main challenge here is the house which is very small. We don't sleep comfortably.
