How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
During those passed years, I have been planning to build a new house because the house that I am living in presently is old. I have been finding it very difficult to mantain my children in school. Therefore due to poverty, I have not been able to accomplish any of these plans. I was so excited when I got on the GiveDirectly unlimited cash transfer program. Through the transfer from Givedirectly, I am now building a new and decent house for the comfort of my family and I in the future. I am so dearly happy for the help because I could not afford to afford to reach this far without the help of GiveDirectly.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
I am happy because my kids are in school again and I am building a new house that will accommodate my family and I. I must be thankful and grateful to God and GiveDirectly for everything because I was so poor the extent I could not afford to generate such amount of money to build a new house and keep my kids in school at the same time.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
When I receive my recent transfer from Givedirectly, I used portion of it to buy three bundles of zinc for the roofing of my house. The present house that I am living in with my family is very bad off. Due to my financial strength, I have not been able to renovate it until it is in such deplorable condition. I also pay my four children balance school fees. Through the means of education, I believe that there will be a better future for them.

Give Directly does everything well, they have lifted us from the dust and I'm grateful to God for them.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was very busy when my transfer message came. I quickly went to check it out because from the day I was enrolled on this program, I have been expecting money from Givedirectly. Luckily for me, my expectation was a reality. I have also been hearing about the good news of GiveDirectly in various communities before coming to my town. When I realised that it was mobile money message from GiveDirectly, I was very much happy. I began to dance when I saw the message. I ran as fast as I could to let my family know about the good news.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
I was really suffering. I was not able to send my children to school for some times and it been breaking me do slowly. I have been living in a house that is not conducive for me and my family but we have to stay there because I had no alternative. With the help of GiveDirectly sending me such amount of money unconditionally, I believe that my life has totally changed for good for a better future because I am a happy person and my family is also very much satisfied and better up than before.

I have had so many plans to build a new house but there have been no way out for me because of poverty. My children have been out of school for some times now and we have been living in a house that is not in good condition. When I get this money, we will build our house and send the children to school.
What is the happiest part of your day?
We have been hearing about GiveDirectly and also praying for GiveDirectly to come in our town so that our children can go to school and, so we can also build our house. I'm really happy now because GiveDirectly is in our town today.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The hard time i'm facing right now is no money. I really want to build my house because the house that i'm living in now is leaking and the walls are shocking, because the house is old; school has already opened and my children are still sitting home because we don't have money to pay their school fees. So by GiveDirectly giving me this money, it will help me to build my house and send my children to school.
