What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent 1,200,000 UGX to pay my dowry and of the balance I spent 300,000 UGX on buying food and the other portion on clearing emergencies.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Givedirectly did well to send me the cash transfers. On the otherhand the money that givedirectly sent us is not enough since we still have more problems which require more money.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My house was dilapidated and almost collapsing on me, however I constructed a house and also paid my dowry . Now I am also respected in the community.

What did you spend your first transfer on?
My first transfer got me to buy a bed, a mattress, plates & cups, and am now uplifting structure of my house especially the walls,because it is in a state of collapse, then go buy clothes as well.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
That moment i received the money, I was overwhelmed with joy because I knew it's going to make a positive impact to my family life.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is there's peace of mind since I nolonger worry about the house collapsing .

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that i am faceing in my life is lack of money.
My house has a broken wall and usually when it is coming to rain, i have to take refuge else where and watch to see what happens. Usually after it has rained is when i get back it.
All this happens because I don't have money to make my house better.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening when i am done with a day's work, i have money and I can buy something for example chicken for my home.
So far i have been able to buy four (4)hens. This puts a smile on my face because to me, it is an achievement.
What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means i will be able to do business for example buying beans and maize, stock then sell at a later time when prices have risen, buying and selling of goats.
I also hope that i will be able to buy a cow and build a house for myself.
