I am currently living in a three points of an acre piece of land that I purchased awhile back. With the addition of the livestock I bought with the help of GiveDirectly, the small piece may not be adequate to sustain them for feeds and even for our own food. This therefore has necessitated a bigger land, which if I had the ability, I will buy another piece of land where I'd plant some animal feeds and food crops.

It was around 7 am and I was still sleeping when suddenly I was jolted from my sleep by my phone which was ringing. I wondered what it was all about and hence I decided to check it. We spent KES 25000 of our recent transfer on buying a cow. We bought it because it has been our wish to have a cow of our own. We do not have our source of milk and hence we are usually supplied with some from home for our consumption. When the home cows are dry, I am forced to take some of the milk that I usually sell at my business for our consumption. We were not able to achieve this dream of owning a cow because we didn't have the money. The money that I make from this milk-selling business is not much, it is only enough to buy food, household items, and pay school fees for my four children. Other than the above, we also spent KES 8000 on buying new clothes for our children. We also bought three bags of maize for our consumption at a total cost of KES 12000. We usually grow maize but most of the time it does not usually do well since it gets affected by some pests. We also bought a water container at KES 2000 and a big cooking pot at KES 2000.
