Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I went to the stream to wash my clothes one morning, while washing, I heard my phone message alarm, I hurriedly ran to the town so that I can tell my husband to check the phone. We have been expecting a transfer message from GiveDirectly for sometime now because most of our neighbors had already received their first transfer. My husband and I checked the phone almost all the time to know whether the money was there since we were eagerly waiting for the transfer. When I told my husband what happened at the stream, he immediately checked the phone and told me that the long awaited transfer has come from GiveDirectly, when he told me I felt so happy about it because I thought I wasn't qualify anymore for the program and that could be a great disappointment and furstration for me because I have so many problems to be settle with money right now.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
I have been renting a single room for some years now hoping that someday I will build my own house, I didn't know how it could happen because there was no hope of getting a good sum of money to undertake such project, but through this transfer from GiveDirectly, I am now sure of owning a house very soon when all of my transfers are sent. I was also able to pay my children school fees without any stress this semester.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used my first transfer to pay two of my children school fees who lives in the city with one of my family members because of my condition, I also bought matress and other furnitures to fix and beautify the room I am presently staying in, I pay part of my rent for the room I am sleeping in, I bought food for my family also and the balance is in savings for future development.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
"What I plan to do with my cash transfer is to build my own house on my husband family's land within this same town, I've been renting for long time, I and my husband's hustles can only earn little, when we brush the spot we burn the sticks and make charcoal/fire coal, then we plant crops, so the little money we get from the crops harvest and that of the coal sales aren't enough to build house, but can only help sustain the family. Another thing I have on mind is to do fish business which will help sustain the family and help support my children in school."
What is the happiest part of your day?
"What has made me happy in the last six months is the wedding ceremony of my elder brother, seeing him getting marry brought a great joy to my heart, and also brought proud to our family."
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
"The challenges I'm facing are, the lack of money to build my own house, to do my fish business, and to even find food for I and my family, most times we sleep with hunger, when we go to burn the coal and sell it, it doesn't earn much, and even the garden we make can sometimes fail us due to animals eating the crops, but in all, the little we earn from these activities can only provide food with nothing much to save."
