How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Yes. My new goal is to invest my last transfer into agriculture. My previous transfers were used to build my house. With my recent transfer received from GiveDirectly, I am currently making a very large sugarcane farm. Proceeds gathered from my sugarcane farm will be used to sustain my family even after GD program is over. My life has improved for good. I am glad to be part of this project.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has been very fair in selecting qualified household to benefit from this program. With these transfers, my life has improved to a greater extend. I feel very relieved at the moment. Finally, I do not see anything that GiveDirectly is doing wrongly.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
Initially, all of my transfers received from GiveDirectly were used to build my house. However, with my recent transfer, I have invested into agriculture. A huge portion of my money was used to establish a very large farm for sugarcane production. My balance money was used to buy food and compensate workers who helped to brush my farm. Produce from this farm will be sold and the money will be used to cater to my family's basic needs.

I'm living in my mother's house and want to build my own house. I got this new goal when I received my first transfer from GiveDirectly. As a result,I used my first transfer to start a new business. I decided to start a new business to enable me speed up my project. I'm going to use my second and third transfers to buy my zinc and all my building materials together and start my project. GiveDirectly have really done well for me.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly have given me money to better my life. I never had a plan or dream of building but with this unconditional cash,it have given me an ideal to stand on my own.

I'm planning to use my most recent to two bundles of zinc and zinc nails. I will also buy food and saved the remaining money to pay contractors that will be building my house.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was sleeping when I heard my phone message tune alarm. I got up from sleep and went through the message it was then when I realised that it was a mobile money transfer from GiveDirectly. I was so excited and began to celebrate and started to sing songs of glory to God for touching the hearts of people to help me. I was also very happy because it was my very first time in my whole entire life to receive such amount of money. I was living with my elder sister going to school in Monrovia but unfortunately for me, my sister financial strength went weaker. I dropped out of school and even had a child through the process because I couldn't handle the struggle that I was going through. I started to do garri business to support myself, my daughter and my mother. Through this means I helped my mother we built a three bed rooms house.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
I was living with my elder sister going to school. It didn't work out well for me and her due to money issues. I went back to my mother who did not have the hands to send me back to school through this struggle I took pregnancy. My husband didn't have the financial support to mantain us as a family. With the help of God GiveDirectly came into our village to give us help financially. My biggest difference is that I have never been able to go back to school and I have never been able to to build a house of my own. Owning my own house and going back to school I believe is the best choice I have ever made in my life to have a better future with my family.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I am with a child now. Living with my mother still is not going to be helpful for her because of the too much stress it is going to cause her. Even though we been living together, but I am having a family and my husband is also around. Life has not been easy for him which have a great effect on us as his family especially with a child . Therefore; for this reason I have decided if my transfer comes, I will have to build myself a new house for me and my family and also improve my business to a larger business to help me if my hands goes down financially. I have planned to buy zinc and pay people to start cutting the sticks to start my project and also go back to school to build myself a brighter and better future.
