How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I am a farmer. My family and I make our living from the farm produce. My previous goals have been to build a guarantee country kitchen, enlarging my farm and changing the old roof over my house. I need the kitchen to be reserving my farm produce in it. I have not been able to do so because I had no money to see my goals or dreams come to reality. Receiving this transfer means gaining freedom from thinking about where to palce my produce during the time for harvest and changing my roof. I would like to spend the transfer on changing my old roof and my kitchen and enlarge my farm to produce more crops and sell them to save money just incase GiveDirectly cash transfer stop.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
I have been on my knees praying for you people that are working with GiveDirectly and the whole organization. GiveDirectly was able to reach out to every deserving households in various communities during the enrolment process. GiveDirectly have made so many poor people to have homes that they would have never built in their lives because of poverty. GiveDirectly have given me better future because there was nothing like future for me. Due to all these reasons, there have been nothing bad I have seen about GiveDirectly. I am very happy for this great opportunity in my life.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I am a old lady. I do not have anybody to help me but God send GiveDirectly to my aid. With my most recent transfer, I was able to use portion of it to buy two(2) bundles of zinc to change the old roof over my house. I bought one(1) mattress and pay people to build my kitchen for my farm produce during the time for harvest.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was just sitting down when my message came but I didn't know that because I am not educated. Due to the rumours of the GiveDirectly cash transfer news, I was concerned about checking the message out so I asked someone to help and read it to me. I am a old lady, throughout my whole life I have been struggling to make a living. I have been living in a one bed room that is leaking so badly. I have never had such amount of money before since I was born. I am glad and happy to have this money because I am going to renovate and extend my one bed room house house to a bigger one.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
My passed life had not been a good one. I been so sickly living in this house alone. The coming of GiveDirectly to do cash transfer to help poor people like us unconditionally is a great blessing for us because we are eaten up by poverty. Since I started to receive this cash transfer from GiveDirectly, I have began to see happiness and feel joy in my heart. With this money, the biggest difference in my life is that I am going to see myself healthy and live under a better roof in my remaining old age.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I have been living in a one room house and I am also a sickly old lady. For these reasons, I have planned to buy zinc to extend my house and attend to my health conditions with some of the money. I have strongly believe that putting a better roof over house and extending it will be a source of my happiness in life. I will also used some of my transfer to get my medical bills pay to get treatment because I want to stay healthy for the rest of old age in my new house.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I plan to go the hospital for eye check up because I lost one of my eyes doing my rice farm scratching and my children took me to the hospital for eye operation but it's like the operation was not done the right way because water is always pulling out of my eye since the operation. I will expand my business with portion of it and buy cement along with zinc to use it for my house.
What is the happiest part of your day?
In the last six months what brought happiness to me was the gift of life and the news of GD coming into our village to work because I know this will help me a lot with my eye condition, I can use my transfer to seek good medical attention through the help of GD.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The greatest challenge right I am facing right now is my eye because I feel so ashamed of going among people with one eye, I wasn't born disable but this happened unexpectedly. I hahave been staying away from my church confrence all because of the lost of one of my eyes and I am the head missionary of my church for this reason I am worry and ashamed so this is my major challenge.
