Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
My house at least have furniture. When I hosted visitors,I had to borrow from neighbours who later talked ill of me for borrowing everytime. This is no longer the case given that at least I have furniture and someone can now ask where I bought them. I also bought a bible to help me turn to God and always give Him thanks for blessing me through GiveDirectly. This is the biggest difference in my daily life.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
There was a day I went to fetch water in my neighbors house because she had an iron roofed house. She told me the last time she checked,it rained for everyone and that she did not see the point of me fetching water in her house. I felt so bad and bitter, and that is why in the next six months,I expect my life to have changed for the better with me having an iron roofed house like the others in the villages.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is currently different in that people have at least started showing me some respect, before people could tell me so many bitter words because I am poor.
Do you have any new goals that you didn't have before receiving the transfer?
My new goal is to build an iron roofed house.
