How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My greatest ambition was to build my own house. Therefore, when I received my previous transfer from GD, I started building a 3 bedroom apartment. Meanwhile, when I received my recent transfer, I have decided to buy a used bike for commercial purpose. This business will serve as an additional source of income for me to cater to my family basic needs. GiveDirectly is indeed a huge blessing to me and my family. I am grateful for this unique opportunity.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
It amazes me at times to see an NGO like GiveDirectly that gives out huge amount of money and expects nothing in return. GD has positively impacted my life through their great financial assistance. I will forever remain grateful to GiveDirectly for all they do.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
Most of my recent transfer was used to purchase a used bike for commercial purpose. Moreover, portion of my transfer was also used to buy 1 bundle of zinc ($10,500LD) to complete the roof of my new house. Tranfers received from GiveDirectly has completely changed my livelihood. I am so pleased with this program.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I have been thinking of building a better house than this but old age has been my challenge in achieving that goal. This house is now in a deplorable condition. I actually don't have a new goal. I am grateful that I have this money, my plan now is to demolish this structure and build a new house.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion GiveDirectly does not prioritize one household over another. GiveDirectly treats all households equal. It allows each household to decide by itself what to do with the payments given. GiveDirectly protects its recipients from fraud; that is, GiveDirectly advice recipients to be careful with their payments especially during cash out. As for what GiveDirectly is not doing well, I have not seen anything yet that it is not doing well. Infact, this is the only organization I have seen the workers every time they are coming they bring their own food and water.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
My first payment I bought zinc and nails for the new house I am building. For this payment, I bought mattress and other household items. I want to thank GiveDirectly for enrolling me on this program. I greatful for this golden opportunity. I promise I am going to make maximum use of it.
