How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is now different because I can now own a house, something I never imagined I could own.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, Give Directly has done everything well, and especially for me. I can now have a house and livestock, that we could not afford. I never imagined i could own a house or a goat. I have not seen anything that Give Directly has done wrong.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I started constructing a house with my first transfer and I left it half way, as funds were not enough. My house has had a leaking roof for a while. My husband does not make enough money to be able to build us a house. He has to cater for school fees for our children and also feed the family. This forced us to bear with the situation of a leaking roof in an old house. I am happy we can now have a new home with no leaks. I have invested most of the second transfer in completion of the house. I also hope that I will be left with some cash from the construction, so that I can purchase a goat for agriculture. I hope the goat I buy can procreate and give me more goats, which I can sell in future and buy a cow. This will assist me to generate wealth and live a better life with my family.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was happy now that GD had remembered my sorrows and I felt like my tears that i've cried out for long time were now being wiped.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
My house was in a very bad condition and in case of rains then it brought a big challenge to me and my family, wandering in other places seeking for shelter. When I received this transfer, then I went on to purchase building materials such as poles, iron sheets and nails for the construction of a new house. Am happy that once my house is complete, the I will have a comfortable home and shelter for me and my family. The remaining amount will be used to pay for labour and whatever remains on this am planning to buy a cow.
