What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I am facing challenges in raising enough money to pay the school fees for my 3 secondary school children. The recent floods have devastated my farming investments, leaving me with nothing to rely on. Additionally, ensuring there is enough food for my family has also become a significant challenge.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I felt immense joy and gratitude when three of my cows gave birth. Seeing my livestock numbers increase fills me with hope, as this is the main source of income for my family.
What do you plan to do with the cash transfer?
I have been facing challenges in obtaining enough money to buy food and pay school fees for my children. This money will be a lifesaver as it will allow me to purchase sufficient food supplies for my family. Clearing all school fees arrears will ensure that my children can continue their studies without any interruptions. Additionally, due to the floods that destroyed some of our household items and utensils, I plan to allocate some of the funds towards purchasing essential household furniture to bring much-needed comfort. I also intend to buy clothing for myself and my children. The remaining amount will be invested in agricultural farming to create an additional income source for the family, thereby reducing the pressure of relying solely on livestock farming for a livelihood.
