How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Had it not for GiveDirectly, I wouldn't have bought a piece of land which will be used as maize plantation. It will help me in growing maize for purposes of feeding my family. The ancestral land that our home currently sits on is owned by many families, its not enough for us to live and also do crop growing. I am now a happy person having realized this goal. I also have a cow which is currently giving us milk to help feed the family and even some can be sold tp earn the family an income. I also note that when the money came, we spent part of it in buying food for the family. It is from then that I feel poverty was eradicated because since then, we have been able to fend for ourselves.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
The organization actually does all the good things by providing financial assistance to the less to do families in our region.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent the second tranfers in buying a piece of land in a far away place. The land that we currently live in is very small. It is not enough for us to use in growing maize mainly for feeding the family.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I will be more than glad to receive this money as it will positively change my life. I will use it to purchase a land since we have a very small one.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening after successfully providing something to eat to my family.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
We don't have a farming land so we depend on money from my casual work to buy food from my community members. On unsuccessful days, we even go the whole day without taking any food. That's is my biggest challenge.
