How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Jefferson, before GD came, I planned to build a house but could not be realized due to lock of funding. I was burning and selling coal but this could not start a house. I was enrolled as a recipient on the GD program and received my first transfer. With the first transfer that was turning point of my dream. I can now start to build a house of my own and will be called a house owner.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I don't know the amount I am to receive, but if I am to be awarded any amount that will enable me buy two - three bundles of iron roof I will surely do. Most of my friends are now fighting to build a very big house with iron roof, no one wants to ever live in thatch houses again. So my plans is to get zinc and cement to plaster my house. The reason is just easy during the rainy season we have to place buckets and pans around just to keep the water away from our things.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I have not been happy over the period of time. My wife you see sitting here has been sick for over months. I myself is facing a serious stomach problem, from one point to another spending money nothing seems to be working. I am grateful today that I can still smile today with the presence of Give Directly in my home. This news is very rewarding and will give me a chance to smile again.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I don't know if I should say money or what but as we all know anything you want to do you must first have money on hand.At the time I build this house I never had enough money;and because of the challenges we were facing with sleeping place,I decided to put this thatch roof as a temporary roof. When the rain come it can't be easy for us. I never really wanted it but there was no money. Money is what every man needs to keep his family surving . In short money is my problem now.
