How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
No, every goal I'm pursuing was planned before GiveDirectly came to my community.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
One of the things that GiveDirectly is doing well is that more people in my community are building better houses for themselves while others are doing businesses to raise more income with the money they received. I have not seen anything that GiveDirectly doesn't do well.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I bought a motorcycle for commercial purposes. With this motorcycle, I am saving money to attend a technical/vocational school and I'm supporting my family as well.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I had just arrived in the village when I heard and saw people shouting and and dancing. They informed me that Givedirectly has sent the money they promised and I quickly went at the network area to check my account balance wherein I saw my money on my sim. I was happy seeing my money. I started making plans in my head right away about paying my fees at a heavy duty driving school.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
It has been my dream to go to a heavy duty school to learn trade and make my life better. I have been struggling to see this come to pass in my life. I asked my brother to even join me to make palm oil for to sell but it has been long now and we haven't raised the money, because family problems kept wiping out the little we earned. What Givedirectly has done for me is the greatest help ever in my life. My life changed for the better since I started receiving my transfer. I have so much joy in my heart. I am well pleased.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I will like to acqurie technical knowledge through a vocational school, if I received this cash transfer. I felt from a palm tree 4 years ago. With this, I am unable to do any physical work. Due to lack of support from our polygamous father, many of us (the kids) didn't acquire formal education. Sustainably, the technical knowledge will prepare me for the many life's challenges and creat a better future for me and my family. This could be a smart opportunity to develop myself as per my desire that due to lack of financial support couldn't be met for so many years.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The month of June 2021, was my happy time. The peace settlement sitting that was held at that time due to the long lasting misunderstanding and disunity in my family actually made me happy. Seven years ago, the increase watchchrsft activities in my family that left so.e family heads victimized. As the result, many of the family member were not speaking to one another. Having peace as family gives us strength and makes us to share family's responsibilities.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My major hardship i am facing currently is, financialhardship caused by lack of unemployment. As a member of an African-polygamous family, I was not opportuned to have formal education. Therefore, financial hardship became the tricledown effect of the lack of employment for me. At my age, I ride a motorbike to support my children that which involves so many risks. Eventhough, I generate some little amount from the bike riding, but it's not sufficient enough to maintain the welfare of the family. I have been saving little amount like $ 3,000 LRD for the past 9 months now to begin something sustainable for the family like going to vocational school or a business in order to overcome my financial hardship.
