How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life has changed because these cash transfers, have enabled me to acquired own farm land. This season I hope to get good yields because I have Cultivated maize on large scale. Secondly, I bought 6 calves which I plan to use as bride price for my future wife. Previously, I farmed on small scale because I shared the farm with my other brothers and I could not afford to buy livestock.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly has done well by giving me money for buying my own piece of land for farming. GiveDirectly has not done anything wrong.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I bought an acre of land for farming.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
My daily life has changed in that I am relaxed because I have acquired animals which can facilitate the marriage process. Before, I used to be shy away from even approaching any girl because of fear of being jailed due to failure to pay bride price.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The hour I saw a message indicating that I had received money from GiveDirectly, I felt excited and started considering my plans of marrying.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first cash transfer worth UGX 1,500,000 for buying animals that I intend to use in future for marrying since our culture demands bride price before you settle with some ones daughter. The balance of UGX 200,000, I have spent it on buying household items like a mattress, curtains, bed sheets clothes and other personal effects.
