How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I majorly depend on subsistence farming which has not been doing well enough to cater for both household daily needs and any other goal in the family. I have children in various schools and my biggest ambition is to see them prosper in their education to allow them to have a better life in the future. Raising their school fees is challenging for me due to the limited resources in our family. Currently keeping livestock with an aim that once they reproduce, I will have milk for both household consumption and sales gives me a the biggest difference in my daily life. I will have offsprings which to me I can always depend on in case of any financial crisis more so to raise my children's education fee and any other household necessity arising. To me having these livestock in my compound is the biggest difference in my daily life. It gives me hope that I can always provide for my family.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has made it clear that they are their for the needy through action. We are lifted as the community and we have a lot to take pride in courtesy of GiveDirectly. We have been approached and enough information in best way possible, I don't see anything wrong in their operations.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I used KES 23000 of my second transfer on livestock to buy a cow and a goat. I made this decision as a way of investing part of my transfer and I preferred a cow since will have milk for both household use and sales and offsprings to help in future. I spent the remaining amount on my family basic needs and households items. I used on clothing, beddings, chairs, couches and on household daily basic needs.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means a bigger and better house especially to accomodate visitors,My husband is a pastor and I usually receive many visitors.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of day is the morning.I am usually happy because God has gifted me the grace to see a new day.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Getting the smallest share of land is the biggest hardship I have faced. Our family is so big so when land was subdivided among the twelve sons,we only got quarter of an acre which is hardly enough to do farming activities so hunger has been part of us for a while now, resorting to casual labour to get earnings was not an option since they hardly bring enough on the table.
