How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
No, I remain consistent with my old plans which are, to send my children to school and to purchase a motorbike. Now as you can see I have my own motor that I use to hustle.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Givedirectly does well in reaching out to the poor, we bless God for them, it's because of Givedirectly that today some of us can put our hands up to be a bike owner, and we can also boast of our children being in school, and I can't think of anything that Givedirectly has not done well.

I spent my recent transfer on motorbike, I had some money keeping from my previous transfers which I added on my recent to purchase the motorbike.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Before GiveDirectly came to help us, my first goal was to buy a motorcycle and run it as a business because I knew that it could generate more profit for me. With the help of GiveDirectly transfer, I was able to buy it and I'm running it presently as a business, now my new goal is to rebuild my house and make it more decent and comfortable for my family. I know that with the profit that I am earning from my business adding to my remaining transfer, I will surely make that dream come true.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly does well by not asking for anything in exchange for their help, they are also kind and patient with recipients at all times, the program is also straight and fair to me. I don't know what GiveDirectly is not doing well because everything is okay with me.

I want to use my recent transfer to buy some building materials for my house project but I am awaiting the last transfer so that the money can be enough to buy the materials needed for the project. I will also use some of it to buy food for my family.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my transfer I was happy, since I was born nobody ever give me free money. Everything I have today I had to work hard for it.

Since I received my transfer alot has changed, this is the first time I have twenty plus thousand dollars in my hands. I was able to pay my children school fees in full installment

What does receiving this money mean to you?
If I am successful to receive my transfer, I will use the money to pay my children school fees and renovate my house. The house I am currently living in has leakages everywhere, and when rain is falling, we don't have place to stay.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am happy because my children and I are healthy and we are able to move around and get our daily bread, and also the news of Dive Directly in the neighboring communities brought happiness to me and I was praying and hoping that one day, they visit my community too. So today, I am happy and rejoicing for Dive Directly to enter my town and I am hoping to be one of the person to receive help from them.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I am currently facing financial challenge, my main means of earning money is to burn sticks into coal before I get money for food and my children school fees and the money can not be enough to meet up to all my needs. I am also finding it difficult to live as a single parent with two kids. After spending some time in the bush and then return home to prepare food for my children and myself is not easy at all for me. Since my children mother divorced me, I have not been lucky to have another wife and I pray to get a woman and marry soon.
