How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I have been struggling so much on sustainable ways of getting money. So i had always wanted to find money so that i can buy a sewing machine for my son so that the money he gets can be used for our day to day needs. Am glad i managed to do all that with GD programme
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
There is nothing Givedirectly can do wrong.everything is perfect
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used my second transfer to buy a sewing machine and also rent out land for farming this farming season.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I am very grateful for being considered in this program. I am originally from Thyolo and I came to Mangochi for some piece works. I have been looking forward to build a house and I am happy that I will be able to build one when I receive my transfer. I also have a child who is at a secondary school level and we have been struggling to pay school fees for him. This is another opportunity to sponsor his education. I also intend to buy a piece of land for farming.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am always a happy person during morning when I wake up. It's the time I thank God for the new day he has given me.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The main challenge is food. The money we all get from piece works is not enough to buy food and some other basic necessities.
