How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is now better than how it it would have been if I had not received the transfer. This is because I am optimistic that in one years' time, my small-scale dairy entrepreneurship project I started by buying the two dairy cow will have paid off. This will improve our income and livelihood. I will also be saving the money we are currently using to buy milk for domestic use.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, Givedirectly has done well giving it's beneficiaries unlimited cash transfer for them to decide on what to use it on since everyone has different priorities. I do not see anything that they do not do well.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
It has been my desire to own a dairy farming project to assist me get milk for my family consumption and for commercial purposes. I have been buying milk ever since I started a family and this is has been very costly especially now that I have an infant feeds mainly on milk. I also do not have any source income so the project will be of significance to my family catering for their needs. I bought 2 dairy cow's worth KES 400000. I used the remaining amount of money to till my small piece of land and bought maize seeds for planting utilizing the current rainy season.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The happiness that came at the moment of receiving the transfer was so great. This made it so hard for me to wait at least for a day before collecting it from the town. At that moment, I was a little bit afraid that anything might happen with my account that could lead to losing all the transfers. With all that joy, I took off and made sure that I came back home later with cash.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life after receiving the transfer is the great ongoing construction work. This has brought great hope in that we will soon be moving into a new house with more space and new comfortable bedding. It is a great blessing to the household after living under an old roof for quite a long time after the passing on of my grandmother.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
After the demise of my grandmother - who had always been my guardian - I was left with my kids under an old roof that I had never been able to neither renovate nor construct a new. Even though I had been working so hard towards the construction, payment of school fees and availing all the household needs have been much more demanding. I am glad that on receiving this transfer, I have so far purchased 25 iron sheets, wood, and other construction materials with 41000KES. With the remaining amount, I have obtained new bedding and also foodstuff for my household. I am glad that the construction process has already begun and hopeful that the second transfer will be coming in time to complete the project.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Together with my husband, we live in a house that was given to us by his parents following the demise of our grandmother. Culturally, I am suppose to live in this house for not less than three years. I am in my second year and I intend to use the remaining one year planning and executing my various wise spending options. By the end of the said three years, I will have built myself a nice house and furnish it at a cost 60,000 shillings. Additionally, I will buy two heifers at a cost of 40,000 shillings.
What is the happiest part of your day?
After I am done with my usual household chores, I head to my mother-in-law to help her with her own chores. My happiest part of the day is in the afternoon when together with her sit under a tree as she tells me moral stories about having a successful family life.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I had purposed to reach tertiary level of education. I never realized this dream since I had to leave my education at secondary school level. The reason for this was my parent's inability to pay for my school fees. Following this, I had to get married so that I can start another chapter in my life. Hopefully I will ignite my dream in the near future.
