Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
I am very happy because I acquired an ox and this has boosted our labour force. Previously, I had only one ox. I had to borrow oxen from the neighbours and this was hectic. The cash transfers have made me self independent. I also acquired nice household items.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I overheard people talking about the cash transfers but unfortunately I could not read. However, I gave the phone to my son who checked my mobile money account. At that moment I felt very excited and overwhelmed with joy when I received the money on my mobile money account.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
The first cash transfer was spent to buy an ox worth UGX1200000 and a mattress worth UGX105000 and bed sheets worth UGX28000 and two dozens of plates worth UGX50000. I bought clothes worth UGX100000. The remaining cash transfer was spent on food.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means I will be able to pay school fees for my children so that they can become better petsons in future who will also take care of me in my later stages of life. I also hope to build an iron roofed house which will save me from the burdden of changing grass over and again. Such a house is even safer especially when there are strong winds.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am happiest in the evening when I am seated with my children. I feel good being with them.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I am faced with is inadequacy of land for cultivation. I hire land each time I want to cultivate but this is very expensive for me the fact that I don't have a clear source of income. To raise money for hire of a garden, I have to do casual labour until I am able to raise the amount of money that is needed.
