I spent most of my third transfer to pay school fees for my child who is in high school. I bought building materials like iron sheets and timber which I will use to build my house in my own compound and also bought two sacks of maize for my family's consumption.

My life is different in that, I will soon build my own house in my own compound which I could not build before and also paid school fees for my child who was almost dropping out of school due to lack of school fees. Thank you GD for the life changing transfers.

GiveDirectly has brought alot of changes and development in our community through unconditional cash transfer. GiveDirectly should consider enrolling more recipients into the program.

I spent my second transfer on expanding my house and now its a spacious one hence I find it comfortable when hosting my visitors.I gave some money to my brother for up keep as he was joining high school. I paid off dowry by giving two cows that is a dairy cow with an ox respectively. I also bought ox plough , sofa set seats and a table.

The biggest differences in my daily life is that I have paid of dowry hence I have regained respect from my in-laws as they used to undermine me due to my low economic standard.I also have an ox plough hence I no longer practice labour exchange which has always time consuming leading to a late cultivation and harvesting activities on my farm.

I never had chairs and therefore I spent half of my first transfer on a sofa set. I invested the remaining amount on commercial maize farming to improve my income.

The major thing that is still lingering in my mind is how I can expand my farming activities. I will invest the whole of it in farming to transform my status to that of a modern farmer. The farming I would like to facilitate with this my upcoming second transfer in maize and rice farming.
