How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life has improved because I managed to plaster my house. I'm now sleeping in a clean house. Secondly, I also own a cow which will multiple in future. In the past, I slept in dusty house because the floor was not plastered and I could not afford to buy a cow.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly has done well by helping me with money for plastering my permanent house and acquiring a cow. GiveDirectly has not done anything wrong.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I bought a cow, building materials ( 5 bags of cement), paid labour, restocked our family business and food.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is the fact that I started my personal business that has made me employed and bring services near to people. This has helped me to meet my daily expenses such as feeding, medical care to my children among others. Before getting this transfer, I used to farm as source of income.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my money, I felt so happy knowing that I was now going to be able to complete my house and carry out my activities as I had earlier on planned.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer Ugx 600000 to buy some building materials such as cement, sand, aggregate and pay labor that helped to renovate my house in terms of cementing and plastering it. I also used part of my first transfer Ugx 100000 to start up a business that will keep me employed. I then gave Ugx 200000 to my husband to restock his cloth business. I then bought food to feed my family, some household items such as bedding and clothes. I paid up some money to the people who helped in farm work.
