How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
The cash transfers transformed our lives for example we purchased a motorcycle that earns income for the family. In addition to this, I was able to access better medical treatment. We also hired a piece of farm land that will increase our food supply. I am very happy because all these achievements would not have been possible without GiveDirectly.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly did well to give us cash transfers that have raised up our community from the fangs of poverty. In my honest opinion, GiveDirectly did so well on overall.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent UGX 1000000 of the second cash transfer to purchase a second hand motorcycle and UGX 300000 was spent on repairing it. The balance was spent on clearing my medical bills.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
My daily is different in that, I have a new bigger bed and a mattress that have made my house look good. I also have an additional acre of land that will increase my crop produce, part of the harvest can be sold to pay medical bills. Before receiving this transfer, I used to sleep on a smaller mattress without a bed and I had only one acre of land that couldn't produce enough harvest to support my family.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received the transfer, I was overwhelmed by joy because I had got the financial support that would help me get land for farming.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I lent out UGX 500,000 in exchange of an acre of land that I 'm currently planning to plant ground nuts. Father more, I bought a mattress and a bed at UGX 215,000 and food at UGX 115,00. I have not yet spent UGX 870,000 but we plan to add with the second transfer to buy a motorbike for business.
