How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I have constructed an iron roofed house that I currently sleep in which has given me a great peace of mind. Previously, I had a burden of renovating my hut annually and even the grass that was used as material for renovation was scare, I moved long distances looking for grass. Secondly, I have acquired a bed that I didn't have before, sleeping on it for the very first time has made me very happy.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly did well to give me financial assistance that facilitated the construction of an iron roofed house. GiveDirectly has not done bad in anyway, I am very grateful because I have an iron roofed house that doesn't require renovation annually.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer to purchase a bag of ground seeds,a bed, 19 pieces of iron sheets, timber, 3 bags of cement, binding wire, nail, paid construction workers and school fees for my daughter.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means I will be able to build an iron roofed house. The one that I sleep in leeks. The balance will be used to provide the education needs of my children and buy some household items.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am happiest in the evening when my children return from school. They make funny jokes that make me lough. Sometimes they also attempt to teach me what they learn from school.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I am faced with is maintaining a family alone as a widow. I have four children in school but providing their needs is such a big charllage to me. I do not have land that I can cultivate to get food so I do casual labour most of the time. Sometimes I have had to borrow small portions of land to cultivate but what is produced is not usually enough to take care of the family the whole season. Life is not easy.
