How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
After I received the transfer on my mobile account, I thought on buying one lot of land to start my building project, so my family and I can have a good living place.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was resting, when I heard people in my community shouting. I asked some of the people that were shouting what was going on. They told me Givedirectly have sent our money. I was so excited and immediately when up the hill where there is network to check my account. I saw my money and I was rejoicing coming back to my community.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
It was very difficult at first to pay my kids school fees. But with the help of Givedirectly I can pay their school fees easily when I received my transfer.
I'm renting and have always wish that I could build a house of my own, I have presently bought one bundle of zinc and waiting for my next transfer to start building my house.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
"I'm firstly happy to hear that I'm receiving cash. Receiving this cash I'm firstly going to send my children back to school and rebuild my house, if there's any change left will save it and start a business".
What is the happiest part of your day?
"The last six months my sister was seriously sick in the sick bush. Some families and friends give up on her situation. Hearing that she has recovers from her illness in the last six months really makes me happy."
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
"Mainly it's house problem, my house is currently in half because of the rainy season. When rain falls my family and I have to sleep in the kitchen for the night, sleeping in the kitchen has now given my kids some sicknesses because of the smoke."
